Artist Dolores Andrew has long been a familiar face in Rehoboth Beach, and this summer her work will be featured in exhibits at three area galleries. Dolores is the July Featured Artist at the Wiberg Gallery at 20 Baltimore Avenue in Rehoboth Beach, where her “European Travelogue” – a collection of works in pastel and watercolor from recent European trips – will be showcased throughout the month. An opening reception for the show will be held July 18 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Dolores is a longstanding member of the Rehoboth Art League (RAL) and has participated in its annual Summer Outdoor Show for 41 years, including 21 years on the show’s committee and 16 years as its chair. Now, however, she is shifting her emphasis to gallery exhibitions, where her art, including large works, can be seen on a continuing basis.

In addition to the Wiberg, Dolores’ work can be seen at The Art Barn at the Hatchery 125 Kemp Lane in Easton, and at the Rehoboth Art League Members Gallery, 12 Dodds Lane in Rehoboth Beach. She is also participating in the RAL Members Craft Show June 19-July 19, which includes her needlework pieces, and the RAL Members Fine Art Show July 24-Aug. 23. Farther west, Dolores’ work can be seen at the Gallery of the Garrett Arts Council in Oakland, Maryland. She also teaches, judges, lectures and authors articles for many arts organizations nationwide.

“I have always enjoyed the creative environment on Delmarva,” Dolores says. “The community is very supportive of the arts at all times of year but especially in the summer months.” During July Dolores will also be teaching adult classes at the RAL in drawing, colored pencil technique, pastel in plein air, and watercolor in plein air. Clients for one of her well known house portraits or other commissions can contact Dolores through any of the galleries named.

Dolores Andrew works in a variety of media, including pen and ink, watercolor, pastel, charcoal, scratchboard and several surface embroidery techniques. Samples of her work and a schedule of current exhibits can be found on her website at DoloresAndrewDesigns.com.
